Scripture: 1 Cor 2:9 "But, on the contrary, as the Scripture says, What eye has not seen and ear has not heard and has not entered into the heart of man, [all that] God has prepared (made and keeps ready) for those who love Him [[e]who hold Him in affectionate reverence, promptly obeying Him and gratefully recognizing the benefits He has bestowed]" Amplified Version
Observe: Paul was saying on the contrary, when compared to those who don't have the wisdom from above. God has prepared and is preserving for us great things that no one can imagine (seen, heard, felt, experienced), but He has revealed these things to us by His Spirit. We can know the things God has freely given us. Paul also tells us what the evidence of true faith seems to be: affectionate reverence, prompt obedience, grateful heart.
Apply: I want to think deeply about the benefits of God and be grateful for them. My vision is down on the ground of my circumstances, I must lift my head to see what God has prepared for me.
Pray: Jesus, lift my head today. Give me your vision to see all that you have prepared for me. Give me affectionate reverence, prompt obedience and a grateful heart today. IJN, Amen
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 2:10 "But God has shown it to us through His Spirit. The Spirit understands all things. He understands even the deep things of God.
Observe: God has told us about Heaven in the Bible. They Holy Spirit knows everything.
Apply: Thinking about Heaven makes our problems less hard.
Prayer: Dear God, help me to think about heaven and to understand heaven.
S: 1Corinthians 1:25 "For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength"
O: Paul says to look at the mightiness of our God. He uses comparison words like wisdom/foolish & strength/weakness. These comparison are so striking....Meditating on them brings them into a greater/clearer light.
A: God's wisdom needs to be tapped into by me. What am I thinking? When I look at the comparison between weak / strong.... I think of when I am at my strongest--the way I think and move about... God's weakness is greater than my strongest moments... WOW! God is and always will be STRONGER than me. Always. I need to lean into and on Him all the time, even when I am at MY strongest.
P: Father God, thank you for showing me again how great and strong you are. Humble me as I move about my day/evening. Help me to lean, lean into you during my highs and my lows. For you are stronger and wiser than ALL. I love you!
