Scripture: Joshua 13:33 NLT "But Moses gave no allotment of land to the tribe of Levi, for the Lord, the God of Israel, had promised that he himself would be their allotment."
Observe: The Israelites were being given certain portions of land according to the tribe they were in. No portion of land was given to the tribe of Levi, because God promised that He would be their portion.
Apply: I need to realize today, the day after the health care bill passed by the house, that you God are all that I need.
Prayer: Jesus, would you allow me to see you as my portion. That my relationship with you sustains my being and that you are my provision. You are my land. You are my inheritance.
SCRIPTURE "I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as he said." (Joshua 14:11-12)
OBSERVATION No such thing as retiring here! Caleb, to me, must have had some spiritual, mental and physical life in him to live life to the fullest! That's it - living life to God's fullest! If He can do exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or think - I wonder if God wants us to reach for His exceedingly great dreams that live within us!
APPLICATION I love Caleb's fighting - warrior - confident - never give up - faith driven - HEART and MINDSET!
As I grow older, my body aging, bones and muscles aching, -- I am inspired to fight the great fight of faith and to keep my self healthy - nourishing my spirit, soul and body!
I want to be vigorous till the end...like my hero Caleb! Yes - I have a fire, passion and strength today, like I did when I received the Lord. So today I say...Give me that "hill country Lord!" My hill country today is God's fullest - His best - the promise land dreams that He has placed in my heart!!
How do I train my heart, soul, mind and body?
Heart - Exercise my faith by not avoiding challenging people/situations. Body - Develop disciplined eating and exercise habits. Mind - staying pure - instant flushing of impure thoughts...and replace impure thoughts with the Word!
PRAYER Yes Lord - Your strength has filled me, Your love has captured me, Your faith giving me vision to be all that You want me to be! Thank You for being my help and not allowing me to grow old and tired in heart, mind and passion.

Title: Stay Devoted to God

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 7:35 "I want you to give yourself completely to the Lord."
Observe: Paul was saying to give yourself wholly to Jesus, no distractions (like a spouse).
Apply: I need to make sure that video games, Taekwondo, my room, and music are not keeping me from being distracted from Jesus.
Prayer: Dear God, help me to be fully devoted to you....
