S: Proverbs 29:25 (NLT) "Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety."
O: Solomon is contrasting fearing with trusting. Fearing is being afraid, trusting is walking in confidence. Fearing people is being afraid of what they can do to us or consequences of what a relationship might do to us. Trusting in God is believing in his promises and that safety comes from being in relationship with him. To fear man is to get caught in trap, not being able to move.
A: I need to, when fearing man, intentionally place my trust in God. I need to learn his promises, like yesterday's S.O.A.P. from Romans 15 knowing that hope, peace and joy are found in trusting God.
P: Jesus help me to sense when I am fearing man and not trusting in you. Direct me to your promises that I might trust in you and experience your safety.
