S: Titus 3:5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.
O: Paul was emphasizing the work that God does in our salvation. He spends much of the letter talking about good works based on sound doctrine but when it comes to salvation he makes it clear, you were not saved by good works but only based on God's MERCY! It was based on God not on me. He saved us, I didn't save myself.
A/P: Jesus, would you open my eyes today to your mercy. It is new every morning, great is your faithfulness. You saved me and are making me more like you on a daily basis. May I not be ungrateful for this marvelous act.
