S: Mark 11:25 "But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.”"
O: Jesus was saying that if we are Christians and have a relationship with God the Father we must understand the importance of forgiveness in the gospel. We cannot be forgiven unless we first forgive others.
A: What areas of my life have I not forgiven others in. Work, Church, Friends, Family, and those who oppose me, those who are in authority over me.
P: Jesus, I pray to you this morning and ask you to forgive those I have mentioned. I want to understand your forgiveness better in my life and know that I can only do this as I forgive others.
"S: Psalm 105:1-5 (AMP) 1 O GIVE thanks unto the Lord, call upon His name, make known His doings among the peoples! 2 Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; meditate on and talk of all His marvelous deeds and devoutly praise them. 3 Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek and require the Lord [as their indispensable necessity]. 4 Seek, inquire of and for the Lord, and crave Him and His strength (His might and inflexibility to temptation); seek and require His face and His presence [continually] evermore. 5 [Earnestly] remember the marvelous deeds that He has done, His miracles and wonders, the judgments and sentences which He pronounced [upon His enemies, as in Egypt]. "
O: 1) Psalmist gives many commands related to worshiping God. 2) Singing, various types of prayer, meditation on what he has already done, seeking Him, rejoicing, craving Him and His strength, remembering his marvelous deeds and miracles, etc. 3) It doesn't sound like the psalmist worship time got monotonous.
A: The Psalmist sounds like he worshipped God in a multifaceted way. He sounds like he got 100% into it and it wasn't a 1 hour thing in the morning, but a lifestyle thing. I want that for my life … I will pray about it today and carry these verses around with me this week. When I'm waiting for something (a bus, or meeting to start) I will pull these verse out.
P: Jesus, you are worthy of this type of worship. Not a worship that gives you a token 5 minutes of praise so that I can warm you up to listen to all my petitions. But a love that is constantly dialoguing with you remembering what you have done in the past, are doing today and will do tomorrow. Lord, I want to be that joyful, that I'm just constantly talking about and thinking about you. I want to be 100% full of you. I want your spirit to fill every corner of my heart. But I'm sure some parts of my heart are infected with sin, or I've closed off part of my heart as "no vacancy" for you. Lord, examine my heart. Show me areas that I've reserved for my use only. Show me the sin I have there so that I can confess it and you can cleanse it. Lord, I want to be a vessel that you can use for your glory. I invite you and beg you to come into my heart and clean house, remodel my heart and bring the dross to the top, so that I'm more like Christ. Amen.
