S: Mark 15:34. "Then at three o’clock Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” which means “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?”"
O: Jesus was crucified at 9 in the morning and still alive at 3:00 in the afternoon. He hung there alive, breathing, suffering, taking all the guilt of the world for a long time.
A: do I contemplate our suffering savior? The length of his suffering all because of our sin? His willingness to endure pain and abandonment has given me eternal freedom and a relationship with him.
P: Jesus, it seems as though my own sanctification, evangelism and discipleship would be dramatically changed if I considered what you accomplished through the cross. Help me to more fully understand the cross today.
