S: 2 John 1:5-6 (AMP) 5 And now I beg you, lady (Cyria), not as if I were issuing a new charge (injunction or command), but [simply recalling to your mind] the one we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6 And what this love consists in is this: that we live and walk in accordance with and guided by His commandments (His orders, ordinances, precepts, teaching). This is the commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that you continue to walk in love [guided by it and following it]. "
O: 1) We are reminded again to love. 2) But love is defined as obedience to all that Christ taught. 3) We are to walk in love : guided by it, and following it.
A: When I look at how God deals with people, I know that some times he shows tough love. What he prescribes for them is sometimes very difficult and painful. This isn't a picture of love that I easily can follow. However, if I had followed this with B. she would not be in the difficult situation she is in now. I need to ask God for wisdom in how to "speak the truth in Love".
P: Lord, you know that I crave relationships, and that I err on the side of not speaking the truth in love. Now someone I really care about is experiencing major consequences and uncertainty in her future, because I didn't speak up when you were prompting me. At the time I didn't know it was you... I thought it was my own thoughts, but Lord, I didn't even ask you for advice. I just went through the deadlines and ignored the warning signs. Lord, forgive me, and show me how to do this better in the future. When I feel a tug to confront, help me to pray over it and not just discount it as a critical spirit. Now I pray for B that you will teach her the lessons that you have in mind, that you will do a miracle to clean up this mess, and that you will be glorified through this entire situations. Amen
Romans 5:3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance.
