S: Romans 11:20 "Yes, but remember—those branches were broken off because they didn’t believe in Christ, and you are there because you do believe. So don’t think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen. 21 For if God did not spare the original branches, he won’t spare you either. 22 Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off.
O: Paul was telling the Gentiles how they fit into the "family tree" of God. They have been grafted into the tree because a branch has been taken out of the tree through unbelief of the Jews and God's kindness. Paul warns the Gentiles that if they do not continue trusting, they too will be cut off.
A/P: Jesus, today I am struck by your kindness to let us into the tree. I am also thinking about the word trust. Paul says if you don't continue to trust, you'll be cut off the tree. I trust in you and your sacrifice to save me from my sin. May my trust grow in those areas of my life that are difficult for me. You pull the load Jesus, your burden is light, your yoke is easy. I trust in you to pull today with me at your side.
