  1. S: 1 Timothy 6:6 Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. 7 After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can’t take anything with us when we leave it. 8 So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content.

O: Paul says that wealth is not measured financially, but by being Christlike and content. Materially speaking, what we need is food and clothing to be content.

A: I somehow need to look at the world and it's pursuit of money and say "no" that doesn't bring contentment. Being like Jesus brings contentment. Do I have food and clothing? Yes, so be content in that as well.

P: Jesus, the raging river of materialism runs fast. It is also very subtle in how we get into the river. Help me to identify the river and give me strength to get out if I get into it. Help me to be content with food and clothing. IJN, Amen.
