  1. S: Matthew 6:14-15 (AMP)
14 For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses. "
O: 1)Our forgiveness of others sins, seems to be a requirement for our sins to be forgiven by God. 2) Other passages on forgiveness do not talk about this. 3) My mind does not want to accept this truth
A: Are there grudges that I'm holding against people. Are there things that I still am keeping a tally of, that people have done in the past. When people sin against me … do I add to that tally. Or have I really forgiven them, so that I don't even go to the past offence, but they truly get a clean slate.
P: Lord, this verse disturbs me, because how can I know if I've truly forgiven everyone. Many times people annoy me, but is that lack of forgiveness? If I don't want to be around the person, is that lack of forgiveness? Lord, as 2 people come to mind, I now forgive them both. I give you their offenses, and now count their balance as 0. When or if they offend me in a similar way, help me to remember that they have already been forgiven, and that they have no balance. Lord, this week, if I notice that I have taken offence at anyone, help me to quickly come to you, and confess lack of forgiveness as sin, and then forgive them.
