S: Luke 14 O: God is the healer, values people over laws, is humble, invites the lowly, sends out many invitations, will disciple us.
Man is sick, frail. He values laws or rules over people, invites those who can repay, makes excuses for not following God, most hate others relative to Jesus, must count the cost before following Jesus.
A/P: Jesus, I need to be careful not to follow rules over people. My care for people must not be under conditions of my "rules or terms".
"Mark 14:3 (NIV) 3 While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. " O: 1) A woman came to a men's meeting 2)She worshipped him radically in front of the others 3) She broke the jar (there was no turning back at that point, from "wasting" the perfume. 4) She poured the perfume on his head. A: I want to give me life to Christ, but I don't want to "waste" it. If the Lord has me in Czech Republic for 10 more years, and I never see fruit, I will probably think I've wasted my life. The disciples didn't realize that what she had done had any value as worship. So I too forget that just obeying the Lord, in all the details is an act of worship. I want to bear fruit, but I forget that worshipping the Lord is the highest form of obedience. I need to remember this in times when I feel low because of the results.
