  1. Title: Pray for Your Enemies
    Mentor: Jesus

S: Matthew 5:44 (NLT) But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

O: Jesus was preaching the Sermon on the Mount. In this upside down kingdom Jesus was telling his disciples the type of person God blesses. Toward the end of chapter 5 he says you need to love your enemies. One way you can do this is to pray for them.

A: I need to be creating a list of people who are my enemies, rub me wrong way, annoying me and be praying for them.

P: Lord may you help me to identify those who would be classified as my enemies and then help me to pray for them. In the 30 plus years I have been a Christ follower, I have not done this. Help me to apply this today. IJN, Amen

  2. Title: Fixed on You
    Mentor: David

S: Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. (Ps. 34:5)

O: The fruit of fixing my eyes on Jesus is a countenance, an aroma, a brilliance that only he can produce. When this fruit is evident, shame is absent.

A: I daily need to keep my gaze fixated on him, and keep searching to know him better. As I purposefully set my mind and heart to doing this there will be less and less in my life that I am ashamed of whether in my thoughts, my motives, my actions or my words. The more I look at him, the less I look at me.

P: Lord Jesus...help me to keep my heart, my mind and my eyes fixed on You. Let Your radiance and brilliance shine through me onto others. Transform me from the inside out.

  3. Title: "God is Praised by Us Doing Good"
    Mentor: Jesus

S: Matthew 5:16 "In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father."

O: Jesus was saying that we should do good things so that people will praise God.

A: The reason for doing good things is so that others will praise God.

P: Dear God, help me to do good things so that others will praise you.
