  1. Title: Build Up The Church
    Mentor: Paul

S: Ephesians 4:13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.

O: Paul was saying that the five gifts mentioned in verse 11 will equip the church so that there will be 1) unity in faith and knowledge of Jesus 2) maturity in the Lord 3) measure up to full and complete standard of Jesus.

A: God has give us all (v7) special gift to build up the church. Am I using my gift? What is it? How am I using it?

P: Jesus, help me to know my gift as to whether it be apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher. I want to be a part of building your church for your glory.

  2. Title: Who Will You Serve?
    Mentor: Solomon

S: "Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe." - Proverbs 29:25

O: Being fearful of others - of their judgement or physical/emotional/spiritual harm - is a trap. Trusting & fearing God is safe & good for me.

A: I often concern myself more with what others will thnk of me, rather than with God's opinion ofme. Pleasing people is a trap - I am imperfect & will never be good enough to always do what others expect me to do. If my identity is in Christ & my salvation is secure in Him, I should have no fear of man. If I know this life is temporary & I have the promise of being complete in heaven, then why should I fear what others can do to me (judgment or physical, emotional or spiritual harm)? I can only serve one god - will it be "man" or the One, True God who loves me unconditionally?

P: Father God thank you for your greatness & for your unconditional love. I praise you that you alone are worthy to be feared. Lord I pray that you will help me recognize when I am fearing man instead of you & that you'll giveme the wisdom to run to the safety I have in trusting Christ. Enable me to remain in the safety of your shelter. In Jesus name Amen.
