Equipped to Honor God S: Hebrews 13:20-21 "May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
O: The author of Hebrews desired that his readers would be equipped by Christ to do things that bring God glory.
A: I need to make every effort to point people to Jesus so he can equip them and please God. One way I can do this is by encouraging others to use this SOAP method. Another is to share different tools I've learned to pass along wisdom I've gained.
P: There are many people out there, God, that aren't properly equipped to honor you. Only you can provide what others need, but in whatever way possible, help me and other Christians to encourage and help those around us. Give us time and a desire to honestly seek your will to please you, our Lord and King.
S: Ephesians 5:3 "Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God's people."
O: Paul was hammering hard on holiness. He mentions several times throughout this passage on not living like the lost - not to be sexually immoral, not to be greedy wanting more money. Even goes so far in a later verse to say such will not inherit the kingdom of God!!!!!!!!
A/P: Jesus, in a culture that values sex and greed, I need the Holy Spirit to convict me of any area that I am not living pure in. What area am I compromising in? I know that it is by Christ alone that I can be holy, so I rely on you today to make me holy and keep me holy. Convict me and right my course. In Jesus I pray.

S: Ecc 12:13 "That is the whole story. Hear now is my final conclusion. Fear God and obey his commands for this is everyone's duty."
O: Solomon is saying that the sum of this book is to respect God and do what he says.
A/P: Dear God, help me to respect you and do what you say.
