S: 1 Peter 2:8 "They stumble because they do not obey God's word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them."
O: Confused on this passage. Earlier in same verse it says people stumble because of Jesus. Then it says they stumble because they don't obey God's word. Could it be that Jesus' commands are not obeyed and that causes stumbling? Could it be that they cannot be obeyed without regeneration?
A: I need to preach and practice obedience to Christ. I am in need of God's grace to live out the commands of Christ on a daily basis. I have become painfully aware of my own sinfulness this week. While leading soap discussion on negative talk, I talk negatively about another person.
P: Jesus, may you and your word not be a stumbling block but a stepping stone a foundation a cornerstone for me and my life of faith. IJN, Amen
