S: Jeremiah 2:13 "For my people have done two evil things:They have abandoned me—the fountain of living water. And they have dug for themselves cracked cisterns that can hold no water at all!
O: Jeremiah was stating there are two sins that Jerusalem was committing: seeing the fountain of life and then not going to it but working hard with a to dig a hole that is dry and doesn't have any water in it.
A: As a Christ follower I know (in my head) that the hole is dry but I dig anyway. Why is that? I know that my reputation hole is dry and yet I dig. I know that the happiness hole is dry and yet I dig. I know that the security hole is dry and yet I dig. I know that the money hole is dry and yet I dig.
P: Jesus, may I drink from the fountain today that is one word away. Jesus, help me to not turn my back on you and dig today. Help me to drink from your inexhaustible fountain of life! Help me to experience this fountain today and may I tell others not to dig anymore but to come and quench their thirst. August 9, 2010 5:22 AM
