S: John 11:26 26 And whoever continues to live and believes in (has faith in, cleaves to, and relies on) Me shall never [actually] die at all. Do you believe this?
O: Jesus was speaking to Martha when getting ready raise Lazarus from the dead. He emphasizes not just believing but also living in Jesus. This is the Amplified version so helps to define faith as cleaves to and relies on. Seems a bit different than intellectual belief...to depend, rely, cleave, lean into type of trust. Kind of like "I'm going to put all my eggs in the Jesus basket".
A/P: The world around us is in turmoil. Our lives are very fragile and yet I TRUST IN YOU JESUS. Eternity is a long time and I'm spending it with you. You have saved me my the power of your blood. You have enabled me to walk with you. You are the rescuer. You are sovereign.
I ask for a friend today that you rescue them in their distress. Keep them in your love. Help them to live and believe in you. May you raise them from spiritual death to life and freedom. In Jesus name, Amen
