  1. S: Mark 1:24 “Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”

O: Jesus is the authority in the spiritual world. He was recognized by name and feared as the one who could destroy this evil spirit. His attributes were highlighted as the Holy One of God. The One who is without sin and blemish. This also teaches that man can be possessed by evil spirits and that Jesus has power to remove them. Jesus can interfere with what the evil spirits are doing.

A: I should pray protection, as in the Lord's prayer, for protection from the evil one with confidence. Jesus' authority in the unseen world is absolute. If He is feared by evil spirits, how much more should I have "healthy fear" of Him in my daily relationship with him.

P: Jesus, your authority and power is real in the physical and the unseen world. You are feared by all. You have power over life and death. You are and were without sin, the Holy One of God. I ask today that you deliver me from evil, for yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever, amen.
