Scripture: Galatians 4:5 "God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.[b] 6 And because we[c] are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.”[d]"
Observe: Jesus has purchased our freedom from the law, so that we could be brought into God's family. Because we are a part of God's family, and the Spirit of Jesus is in us, we can call God "Daddy, Father".
Apply: Ellie is our adopted child and she looked at me last night before bed and hugged me and said "Your my best Daddy." I need to approach you God as my "best Daddy", a fond affection for setting me free from the law.
Prayer: Jesus thank you for purchasing my freedom and Holy Spirit help me to have such affection for the Father that I can call Him Daddy!
Scripture: Deuteronomy 20:3 "Do not be afraid as you go out, to fight our enemies today. Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them. For the Lord your God is with you".
Observe: Moses was saying not to be scared or frightened because God is with you.
Apply: I am always changing my room around because I fear not having the "coolest room", like those in the catalogs.
Prayer: Dear God, help me to not want to change my room and be content with what I have. You are with me, I don't need to compare with others.
S: "Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman"
O: Paul what are you saying? When I read the "slave woman" I think of life before Christ - a slave to the earth and sin. "Free woman" to me is life in Christ - free with Christ - freedom from sin. Sharing in the inheritance with the "free woman's son" (Issac - the one who was born as the result of God's promise to Abraham)
A: Am I living my life as a slave to this world without Christ or am I living it in freedom with Christ in me and me in him. Remembering this ALWAYS and accepting the wonderful gift Jesus Christ has given me - freedom.
P: Father God, I am free thanks to you. You are mighty and wonderful. Thank you for freeing me from myself. I love you.
The price of freedom....Death on a cross...all for me.
Title: Incomprehensible (having or subject to no limits) Topic: Praise Divine Mentor: David
Scripture: Ps. 145:3 "Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom."
Observation: God's greatness reaches beyond the depths of human understanding. It is outside the realm of what we can fully grasp. There is no ending point to His greatness and no one or thing deserves higher praise.
Application: Even though I cannot fully comprehend His greatness, I set my heart and mind toward that end. I will continue to stretch and reach for more of Him and rejoice in what I discover. One way I can do this is by expanding my dependence on Him through daily praying as an individual and as a couple. The more I hear Him and the more I grow in intimacy with Him the greater His greatness will be reflected in my life.
Prayer: Lord, enlarge my view of You, my thoughts of You, my understanding of You. You are worthy of all my praise. Broaden my worship and my delight in You. Let my life be a reflection of Your glory.
