  1. Title: When Overwhelmed, Christ Alone
    Mentors: David and Jesus

S: Psalm 142:3 "When I am overwhelmed, you alone know the way I should turn."

Matthew 14:15 That evening the disciples came to him and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away so they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves. 16 But Jesus said, "That isn't necessary—you feed them."

O: Jesus wants us to look to him alone. His disciples saw the obvious need for food and wanted Jesus to send the crowd home. Jesus seems to like people getting into stressful situations for it causes dependence on Him.

A: Jesus is the answer to situations that seem overwhelming, he ALONE knows the way I should turn. When I am stressed today, I need to turn to Christ alone for guidance. It may be that I need other consul, but Christ alone first.

P: Holy Spirit you are my counselor, may you guide me today when I am stressed. Would you be my comforter when feeling overwhelmed. May I not run to idols for answers. IJN, Amen

  2. Title: Help When I'm Tired
    Mentor: Jesus

S: Matthew 14:17 "When Jesus arrived he saw a large crowd, he felt sorry for them and healed those who were sick."

O: Jesus was trying to get away by himself but the crowd followed him and he felt he needed to help people and he did.

A: When I'm tired I can still help out and not be a grouch.

P: Dear God, help me to be like Jesus and help others even when I want to be alone.
